ISAIAH'S THEORY OF NONVIOLENCE IN ISA 2:1-4 AS A WAY TO PEACE

Abstract

Peace is one of the values that humans yearn for, yet violence, conflicts and insccurity are among the major problems confronting the contemporary world. Violence and conflicts are militating factors to human and societal wellbeing, The problem of violence and armed conflicts had bothered the people of Isaiah’s time just as they trouble and agitate the minds of people today. Isaiah envisioned a world where people of all nations will reject war and adopt a nonviolent approach to conflict resolution. This can be if there is a change of mindset among humans. The change of mindset as [saiah had envisioned it will be when people conduct their lives according to the direction of YHWH’s rorah. True and wholesome peace can be achieved if all nations putina straightforward commitment to peace. It demands respect for the value of life, Dialogue and international cooperation are indispensable to peace among humans.
