Abstract

This research explores the resurgence of traditional religious practices among Igbo youth and its impact on Christianity and cultural identity in Nigeria. The study employs a comprehensive methodology, combining qualitative analysis of scholarly literature, empirical observations, and firsthand accounts from stakeholders within the Igbo community. By triangulating multiple sources of data, the research provides a nuanced understanding of the challenges posed by the revival of traditional beliefs, including declining church attendance, syncretism, religious intolerance, unethical rituals, and criminal activities. The findings underscore the complexity of religious dynamics and sociocultural shifts in Igbo society, highlighting the need for strategies to promote religious tolerance, preserve cultural heritage, and foster social cohesion. Ultimately, the study emphasizes the importance of embracing diversity, promoting mutual respect, and upholding universal values in building a harmonious and inclusive society in Igbo land.
