Current Issue
This edition is dedicated to Laudato Si’ and African Environment. Although a “last minute” change of general theme, it is necessary to address some urgent and current issues. It is important to assess the African reception of Laudato Si’ but also profoundly examine eco-theology, ecological conversion and Christian commitment in the context of the present ecological crisis in Africa, which impels everyone to strive towards achieving actionable goals. In this volume, most of the articles is dedicated to ecological issues in the light of the documents of Pope Francis, namely the encyclical Laudato Si (May 25, 2015) and the post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Querida Amazonia (February 2, 2020) -- which is the fruit of the synodal process of the Synod of Bishops for the Pan-Amazon region, celebrated in October 2019. The studies here are, in a sense, about the relationship between human beings and other creatures and the implications thereof. The relationship ought to be more peaceful, friendly and harmonious. Under different titles, ecological issues are presented by scholars from different disciplines (e.g., Theology, Philosophy, Sacred Scriptures).
