PARTICIPATORY APPRECIATIVE DIALOGUE APPROACH FOR BIBLICAL INTERPRETATION: A MISSION STRATEGY IN AN ERA OF CULTURAL RENAISSANCE IN AFRICA

  • Stephen Zahiop YASHIM

Abstract

The Bible is the metanarrative that conveys God’s universal message for all people in their respective historical contexts. It is the revelation of God’s universal message for all people.! God is the author. God’s universal message is the subject matter which the metanarrative conveys. People in their historical contexts are the recipients of God’s universal message.” God’s universal message requires interpretation in local contexts in order for it to be meaningful and relevant in those contexts. An appropriate approach that can facilitate the contextual and relevant interpretation of God’s universal message and facilitate the biblical transformation of the worldview of rural communities can serve as a tool for the development of African Christians growing as authentic biblical, not syncretistic, Christians in culturally meaningful and relevant ways.
