This book is a house enclosing the most treasured aspects of the great religions. It is a cache that leads to a deeper knowledge of divine revelation. More specifically, it is a detailed presentation of the rabbinic understanding of the central event of the Pentateuch, the Sinai event. In order to clarify the often brief and enigmatic views of the Rabbis, Neudecker subjects their views to what he calls a 'trans- or meta-historical dialogue', that is, he places them alongside relevant texts and traditions from Sufism and Zen-Buddhism. This work, therefore, could be treasured as a tool for inter-religious dialogue.
