THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE NEGLECTED PERSON OF THE HOLY TRINITY
摘要
The one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church “professes that the Holy Spirit is one of the persons of the Holy Trinity, consubstantial with the Father and the Son™', that “the Holy Spirit is the last of the persons of the Holy trinity to be revealed™ and that he is worshipped and glorified with the other two divine persons’. This Holy Spirit is sometimes described as the neglected, the forgotten, and the unknown person of the Trinity. However, in recent times, there is a remarkable re-awakening of interest, sensibility and consciousness in the Spirit both in the Church and the world as a whole. This paper intends to examine the merits of the claim that the Spirit is neglected with a view to affirming or debunking it particularly in the light of the emergent spirit-consciousness. This will be done with particular attention to the African Church and theology.
