Christian Eschatology and Ancestor Christology: How compatible?

Résumé

*African Christological concepts do not exist.”’ This statement was made in 1967 by the Kenyan Anglican and African foremost theologian, John S. Mbiti. Today, 34 years later, it seems urgent to re-examine Mbiti's statement realizing that some progress has been made 1n this direction but with some difficulties with some of the concepts. Meanwhile one could speak of “the failure to produce a convincing African or Black Christology.” Generally speaking, developments are taking place all the time and one could have simply expected that Christology would have been Africa's most internationally recognized contribution to the Christian faith.
