Abstract

Nigerian youth grapple with a range of challenges, including limited access to quality education, high unemployment rates, cultural dilution, and economic disparities. Additionally, there is an untapped potential in leveraging Nigeria's rich cultural heritage for the development of creative industries. Music education emerges as a crucial catalyst in nurturing the talents of Nigerian youth, while also contributing to the nation's cultural and societal progress. Anchored on the Youth Empowerment Theory, this study explores the multifaceted impact of music education on Nigerian youth, emphasizing its capacity to empower them and stimulate national growth. By employing surveys and literature methods, the research reveals that music education not only imparts valuable skills and cultural awareness but also fosters a sense of national identity and civic engagement. The findings underscore the pivotal role of music education in youth empowerment, highlighting its profound influence on individual development and broader nationbuilding efforts. The study advocates for increased investment in music education, both in resources and curriculum developments, to nurture talent, preserve culture, and contribute to Nigeria's collective growth. In conclusion, this research underscores the transformative potential of music education in Nigeria, positioning it as a critical tool for advancing arts and nationbuilding endeavors in the country
