Contextualising Edgar Allan Poe’s Selected Short Stories with the Covid-19 Pandemic
摘要
It is well known that literature has been an epigone of life for future generations on this earth; many times, literature has voiced the issues of the voiceless for ages. This is so that you'll know that during COVID-19, everyone was cooped up in their homes. In a period of widespread crises, literature connects people and fosters human emotion, breaking silence, dividing individuals, and reducing boredom. The finest thing to say about literature and stories is that they demonstrate to us how much we have in common with people who come from other cultures and historical periods. This chosen fictional work for the present study can be seen as occasionally inspiring for individuals to recognise that this is a realistic method to understanding that they are not the only ones suffering from the current pandemic's widespread destruction. Lockdown was enacted globally during the COVID-19 epidemic, when millions of people were placed under strict quarantine. However, this emergency plan had a significant negative impact on people on a variety of fronts, including the physical, social, political, economical, religious, intellectual, emotional, mental, moral, and educational levels. Every person was cut off from the community and civilization as a result of the pandemic and lockdown because social distancing was the key requirement during this pandemic. The goal of this research paper is to gather contemporary literature to study some fictional stories that use the epidemic as their backdrop through numerous digital platforms, which have provided vast scope for everything readable in literature.
